When you link a credit card to your smartwatch, a digital version of your physical card is created and stored on the device. The number on your digital card (similar to a normal card number) will be communicated to retailers or online merchants when you make purchases. Therefore, only Visa is able to link your digital card number and your real card number.

Payment authorisations

You are required to enter your smartwatch’s four-digit PIN whenever you put it on, and that PIN is then valid for 24 hours if you do not remove it during this time. However, you will be asked to re-enter it if you have taken your watch off when making a payment. This personal code ensures that only you can pay with your watch.
