If you are not allowed into a lounge with your BIL Visa card (you will see an error message when swiping your card), there are generally three possible reasons:

  • Your card is blocked or there is insufficient limit available (the lounge will need to authorise a transaction for the value of the visit to check the validity of your BIL Visa card, so make sure that this won’t take you over your card limit).
  • The lounge is not part of the LoungeKey programme

  • You have not activated international transactions for your card in the BILnet online banking service using a computer or mobile app. To activate them: in BILnet (via computer or mobile application) in the “Cards” menu select the card you wish to use for the payment, then click on “management” and under the “authorisations for use” section activate the “payment outside Europe” function.
