Your BIL Visa cards: 100% recycled PVC, 100% commitment
In a more environmentally friendly approach that reflects its commitment to a more sustainable future, BIL has opted for payment cards made from 100% recycled PVC.
Our new bank cards are made from recycled materials derived from industrial printing and packaging waste. By reusing these materials, we are actively reducing our carbon footprint, preventing plastic waste from going to landfill or finding its way into our forests, coastlines and oceans.
We have eliminated the use of solvent-based inks in our card manufacturing process. This not only reduces our carbon footprint, but ensures that our cards are free of substances that could harm the environment.
In partnership with IDEMIA, the global card manufacturer, we have our bank cards produced locally. Made in Europe, these cards reflect our interest in the circular economy, and help reduce emissions from shipment.
BIL is committed to becoming a more sustainable bank. It’s a matter of conviction. We have structured our organisation to overcome ESG challenges, and have built our sustainability strategy around four pillars:
We have signed up to the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative’s Principles for Responsible Banking, and uphold the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
